Out of the Sea
2014 The artwork is a reflection on global warming. The unrestraint and excessive use of natural resources is the root of flooding, melting glaciers, earlier spring arrival, coral reef bleaching, and the spread of diseases. The ‘Fish’ sculpture is wrapped in layers of linen and stitches that both act as preservation, as well as show the texture and fragility of nature. Every knot is a reflection of changing nature. If human desire is left unbridled, our living nature will be at stake. Metal, fabric, thread, polymer paint, colored glass Dimensions variable |
