​​META-GRAPHY

​META-GRAPHY is a photographic exhibition featuring works by members of The Artists Village who come from diverse practices and research methodologies. The participating artists all deal with photography in their work within contexts of technology, structuralism, issues in urbanisation, and the shifting of reality and fiction. Photography requires immediacy and contemplation at the same time, it is both reactionary and relational, it captures both triviality and the solemn. The exhibition looks at photography in the contemporary diversification of expressions, recordings, information, and nuances.  ---------------   Text by team members
The CIMAM 2017 Annual Conference held in Singapore from 10 to 12 November hosted by the National Gallery Singapore made a visit to DECK Singapore and we were honour​ to present META-GRAPHY.

Beyond Time
Beyond Time depicts the different journeys made; though it has gone away from physical presence. People and places may be deeply engraved in our memories while some may be faded through the years. When time is finite, Beyond Time examines into living beyond the intrusion of nights and days, weeks and months, seasons and years.
The artwork undertakes cyanotype technique which is an alternative photographic process. It portrays the familiarity of my childhood seeing how black and white photographs were developed; akin to an image, which appears in water. The stitches are meant to symbolize memory in eternity as if these moments are taken into time, beyond time.
